Welcome to the Superstars Club!

For people with learning disabilities

Who Are we?

Superstars is a dynamic, energetic, forward thinking charity which provides life enhancing opportunities for people with learning difficulites. Many also have physical, sensory and other impairments. All are welcome. Our provision is tailored to suit the abilities of our memebers regardless of thier disabilities.

Four evenings per week we provide social, leisure, sporting, arts and drama clubs.

Our social enterprise cafe - The cafe @ Superstars - is open from Tuesday to Saturday each week from 9:00am to 4:00pm. We provide up to twenty placements for special trainees in the cafe.

W e also have an enterprise assembling parts for a local engineering firm. This provides training opportunities for yet more of our special members.

Here are the views of some of those involved:

My name is Allister Michael and I have been with the Superstars since 2007. It has been a rewarding time working with these special young people and learning about the different disabilities. Superstar meetings are a time of fun and laughter as we enjoy each other’s company.

'I love going to the clubs during the week as I get to meet my friends. I also love working in the cafe as I get to learn new skills and have bantor with the staff and other members'.

Jessica E.

'It has open my eyes to different disabilities and what makes everyone unique. It also helped me to develop my own personal skills and experiences by being given the opporunity of being a role model for both volunteers and members alike '.

Ciara Rocks, Cafe Manager.

WIth an influx of members joining, we're needing more volunteers to help out with the clubs and cafe so if you want to help, be sure to get in contact with us.
